Lapidary Workshop
Lapidary Workshop
The "Trim & Grinders"
are a group of
members who are interested in the lapidary arts, including cutting and
grinding minerals. We
have a lot of lapidary equipment: In addition to two
six-wheel Genies, three
trim saws, and a 14" rock saw, there is a separate area for jewelry
making for the "Wrappers" and other interested groups.
The lapidary workshop is located at a converted barn at 125 Widmer Road in Wappingers Falls, NY. Map
Members will be guided by experienced instructors. Members may bring their own material, purchase material from the Vug beforehand, purchase material at the lapidary workshop, or go through the small amount of free material at the workshop. Lapidary magazines and books are available to borrow to get ideas.
You can purchase a workshop ticket for a certain number of hours of time. It is $2.00/hour or $20/15 hours. These are some free slabs available to practice and learn on and there are other slabs that are for sale.
The lapidary workshop is open to members only!
