Monthly Programs General meetings are open to the public. Club Activities are only open to club members. Below is a list of the monthly programs, including those currently scheduled for this year. All programs are general meetings (and therefore open to the public), unless otherwise indicated as "Club Activity" (and therefore only open to members). Year 2022: Feb. 18, 2022 • Mineral Bingo Mar. 18, 2022 • Annual Auction A presentation on Field Trips will be done by Eric Orlowski and Scott Barnes. Their talk will be on Trip Safety, the equipment you should have, and tips on collecting. Apr. 22, 2022 • May 20, 2022 • Jun. 17, 2022 • Jul. 15, 2022 • Annual Club Picnic Aug. 19, 2022 • Sep. 17 & 18, 2022 • Annual Club Show Year 2021: Nov. 19, 2021 • Yogo Sapphires Judy and Bob Schuster - These naturally bright blue sapphires from central Montana have a fascinating geologic, human, and mining history. Our discussion includes the boom/bust gold camp, turn-of-the-century adventure and fortune seekers, and the connection to Charlie Russell, the famed western artist. Geology of the Yogo Dike is described in some detail. The second half is full of pictures of our visits to Sapphire Village and our personal tour of Roberts' Yogo Sapphire Mine (not open to the public). A display of Yogos and the lamprophyre dike matrix will be available before and after the presentation. Dec. 10, 2021 • Annual Club Christmas Party We will have a quick meeting to vote for Board Directors for year 2022, followed by dinner and club togetherness. After dinner, we will hold our "Raiders of the Lost Rock" gift game. To be part of this fun gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift (price limit $20).
