Education

The rockhounds are dedicated to increasing Earth Science education. Below are some of the activities we participate in to encourage the Earth Sciences:

Monthly meetings - free to the public

Donating Earth Science teaching materials to area schools

Judging at science fairs, including the Annual Regional Dutchess County Science Fair

Donations to the New York State Museum and Vassar College Geology Museum

Assisting teachers in the classroom

Working with Scouting groups

Shared programs and field trips with Vassar College
